another new artist discovered
I listened to David Wilcox today, singing Last Chance Waltz on the Album Home Again, and really liked it.

Here are some musical artists I've only recently become aware of:
Butch Howard, Melanie, 10,000 maniacs, Sandy Denny, Annie Defranco, Evan and Jaran and Nanci Griffin.
Some of my favorite poets are:
Louise Gluck, William Carlos Williams, Rilke, Lorca
I like expressionists in general. There is a painter names Heironymous Bosch who painted really detailed surrealistic paintings, like the Garden of Earthly delights that I like to look at.
So, you missed the brilliance of at least my last two posts.
Besides music, my other interests are art and poetry and fiction writing. My list of some of my favorite artists disappeared, so here it is again:
Kathe Kollwitz
Paula Modersohn-Becker
Alice Neal
Van Gogh
Paul Klee
Leanard Baskin
Maurice Sendak
Faith Ringgold
Jacob Lawrence
I'll think of more later.
Another favorite song is First Cut is the Deepest. I can't decide whether I like the Sheryl Crow or the Cat Stephens version better.
I posted this yesterday, but it seems to have gotten lost, so here it is again.
I have been discovering a lot of new music lately and music that I haven't heard in awhile. New discoveries are Indigo Girls, and Melanie - who started in the 60's, 70's as a folksinger, and still plays.
Cowboy junkies, especially the song, Misguided Angel.
