Since when is "Hawaii/96786-1413" in Canberra, Australia? by Wahiawa786

I took a look at the World Map to see who was playing what/where. Although I've seen it before, it's time to comment on a well-over-2,000-mile-discrepancy. I've checked the "Set you location" window and found that the settings are correct. (Do I have to submit this data again?)

The World Map did have me posting from Washington, D.C., which is as much of a geographical error as locating me in Australia. A couple of upgrades ago, I was located in the North Pacific Ocean, which was fine with me. Then I was relocated to Washington D.C., which is laughable at best. Now I'm supposed to be in Australia, which qualifies your software for the American High School Student Worldview award.

I'm going back to last.fm, which is familiar with all of the musicians/artists on the HDD, along with many others unknown to this web site.

http://www.mystrands.com/member/Wahiawa786/journal/8901

Yep, the "Nigerian Oil Minister" letter. Haven't those fraudsters gotten the message that their pitch doesn't work any more? Oh well, at least it isn't as aggravating as the continuous telephone and email campaign being waged by the "Your Auto Warranty Has Expired" Phishers. I'd like to introduce them to the Russian Mafia if only to eradicate them from this existence. They are unstoppable, which makes me distrust any telephone solicitations and nearly every other telephone call.
Also, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and a rare disease group whose name escapes me at present also possess the telephone tenacity of Mormon missionaries. (Or was that the Watchtower society?) Excuse me, I'm ending this post, and return to trying to to decipher PNG pidgin that shows up in half of O-Shen's "Rascal In Paradise" music CD.
Example:
"Tupela yia I lus pinis,
Mi no save bai mi lukim yu o nogat.
Maybe sometime hai yu kam bek gen.
Mi no save, yu no bin tok taim yu lus long mi."

http://www.mystrands.com/member/Wahiawa786/journal/8701

"Slack Key Christmas" by Wahiawa786

Charles Michael Brotman and his band of Slack Key musicians have created a great little Christmas music CD for those who don't care for singers. (Palm Records PALM4024)

1. Winter Wonderland (James "Kimo" West)
2. Santa Claus is Coming to Town (Dwight Tokumoto)
3. O Holy Night (Jeff Peterson)
4. Jingle Bells (Randy Lorenzo)
5. Away in a Manger (Dwight Tokumoto)
6. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer (Wailau Ryder)
7. I'll Be Home for Christmas (Sonny Lim)
8. Silver Bells (Wailau Ryder)
9. Little Drummer Boy (Ben Kaili)
10. The First Noel (Charles Michael Brotman)
11. Mele Kalikimaka (Randy Lorenzo)
12. White Christmas (Sonny Lim)

I prefer to hear a singer's version of the song, but these are exceptional musicians. This CD should soothe the most rattled Christmas shopper.

http://www.mystrands.com/member/Wahiawa786/journal/6525

"A Hawaiian Christmas" (Amy Hanaiali'i) by Wahiawa786

Here's a notable music CD release for Christmas 2007. Amy Hanaiali'i, vocals; Chino Montero, Guitar and 'Ukulele; Jeff Peterson, Guitar and 'Ukulele; Stepen Jones, Upright Bass; Bobby Ingano, Steel Guitar. It adds up to great evening music with familiar Christmas music, complete with Hawaiian lyrics. (Tiki Man Records TMCD 8602) It goes like this:

1. Hamau E Na Kanaka ("Hark! The Herald Angels Sing")
2. Betelehema Iki E ("O Little Town of Bethelehem")
3. Po La'i E ("Silent Night")
4. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
5. Pomaika'i Wale Ko Ke Ao ("Joy to the World")
6. Ho'onani Kakou Ia Ia ("Adeste Fidelis," aka "Oh Come All Ye Faithful")
7. Ka Po La'ela'e Ka Hikina Mai ("It Came Upon A Midnight Clear")
8. Little Drummer Boy/Do You Hear What I Hear?
9. Po Hemolele ("O Holy Night")
10. White Christmas
11. Mele Kalikimaka
12. Mary Did You Know?
13. Ke Akua Mana E ("How Great Thou Art")
14. Ave Maria

It's a great little collection, nearly matched by the instrumental-only "Slack Key Christmas" music CD release.

http://www.mystrands.com/member/Wahiawa786/journal/6524
