Reminiscing the Starbucks Chantico.

~ April 22, 2008 at 13:22 (Views: 23 )

I ran accross a website describing Starbuck's discontinued Chantico drink and was suddenly overwhelmed with saddness. It was my favorite thing to get at Starbucks, my friends and I used to hang out there all the time and I, the devoted chocolate lover, was always faithful. Ane then one day, without warning, it disappeared from their menus. When some research, I have finally been able to uncover the mystery behind my most missed Starbucks beverage.

The Chantico was pretty much a very, very concentrated hot chocolate drink. It only came in a 6 ounce cup, and tasted like sipping on liquid truffles and heaven. It was so rich that you could only take little sips at a time, but just one sip would tantalize your whole mouth and every sweet taste bud. I would get one and it would last me longer than anyone else's lattes. Starbucks introduced it as their "drinkable dessert". And I just found out that each cup was 390 calories (yikes!)

Starbucks introduced it January of 2005 and sadly, stopped selling it a year later in Feburary of 2006.

Some say the Chantico's failure may be due in part to its low sales during the summer months. Other say that it was due to the fact that it was available without any variations (only one size, flavor, etc) and Starbucks customers were too used to dictating their drinks to grow accustomed to it.

Nowadays I just get regular dark roast drip coffee with room at Starbucks. Adieu, Adieu my dear Chantico.

This girl is really good. I accidently found her on YouTube and she has an amazing talent for imitating Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey...I don't know, send her a request lol. I suspect that many many hours of karoking played a part though...

Tila Tequila-Paralyze

Okay I'll admit that I don't believe she had ANY talent at all, but Tila Tequila has been one of my favorite celebrities for quite some time now who is famous for just...being famous. She is the MOST popular girl on MyS**** and hosts her own TV show and now is kicking off her popstar career. Plus she's gorgeous.

I heard this song on the radio and finally found out who sings it! Humble lookin guy with a great voice and meaningful lyrics. Like a male Alica Keys perhaps? :-)

This is the description that came with it:

"Stanley Kubrick was arguably one of the most amazing directors of American film. It wasn't his fault that the screenplay of Full Metal Jacket created the hellspawn of 2LiveCrew samples. In the movie, Matthew Modine's character is sitting at a GI bar in Vietnam, and a prostitute comes up to him and says the now famous line, "Me so horny. Me love you long time." Luke and the Crew made it a household phrase. This shirt confronts the notion of the submissive lotus flower sex slave dragon lady and also applies to the human sex trade of women and young girls still going on, largely concentrated in Southeast Asia. Available in a charming military green. Wear this shirt and tell 'em you refuse to be their jade blossom."

I am so getting this shirt. And I am going to wear it around my German boyfriend. Who was in the Army. HA!

Leona Lewis

AMAZING. The winner of the 3rd round of X Factor (Britian's version of American Idol, also hosted by Simon) is hitting it big in the States with Bleeding Love. I guess I just don't watch enough TV to have known about her before, but I am awed by her talent. Oh, what I wouldn't give to have a voice like that!!

Very rarely do I go into to the movie theaters and come out thinking, Golly I sure am glad I paid 8 bucks to see that in the theaters when I could have paid 3 bucks and saw it with a bunch of friends at home! But no, this movie, YES. GO WATCH IT IN THE THEATERS. The graphics and sound effects are amazing and the whole movie is breathtaking. I was blown away. It just came out on the 8th I think. Check it out!
