Greetings: An Introduction

Hello to all of you out there in the larger Mystrand community.

As a fellow music lover, I am excited to join in discussion with the rest of you - alerting people to great new releases, reminding one another of forgotten gems as well as just plain old friendly discussion. Please feel free to leave comments on my journal entries or if you prefer, leave me a message.

Your polite questions and comments are always welcome - it's precisely why I've become a member. I hope to put out journal entries once a week, perhaps more often. The focus of these entries will vary from comments on new releases, reflections on music from the past and sometimes just a miscellanious verbal outburst to get something off my chest.

Now to give you a taste, here's an example of what I have in mind.

Recommended Album (2007)

Boxer by The National

I had many people recommend The National's previous album, Alligator, to me. I gave it a few listens and, although I liked a few of the songs, it never grabbed me enough to really stick in my mind. With 'Boxer' the band have improved in every respect. I found myself humming many of the tracks while I was going about my day, away from my headphones. Some highlights include: Mistaken For Strangers, Slow Show and Fake Empire. If you like the kind of straight forward rock and roll that stands a cut above the rest with careful attention to melody and development, then check this out. And additional comment, fantastic drumming on this album.
