STREET KINGS

~ April 21, 2008 at 8:52 by jrogers (Views: 140 )

"Tom Ludlow is a veteran LAPD cop who finds life difficult to navigate after the death of his wife. When evidence implicates him in the execution of a fellow officer, he is forced to go up against the cop culture he's been a part of his entire career, ultimately leading him to question the loyalties of everyone around him." (compliments of imdb)

Written by the same guy who wrote Training Day and directed Harsh Times (two incredibly AWESOME movies if you haven't seen them before), and starring Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker, Common, and my favorite rapper for his debut on the big screen... THE GAME

I haven't seen it yet, but I've been looking forward to it since the first time I saw the trailer:

And a special treat.... the R-Rated trailer for the real gang bangers on MyStrands :)

If you've already seen it, let me know what you thought.... I have heard good things!

then you like a good Kung Fu movie. One that I like quite a lot is The Prodigal Son. It's a Sammo Hung film from the early 80's that won a choreography award in Hong Kong. Yuen Biao stars as the film's namesake, a son of a wealthy merchant who fancies himself a Kung Fu Master. As it turns out he isn't; so he spends much of the film trying to get a real master (Lam Ching-Ying) to teach him his Wing Chung style. Hilarity ensues, particularly the part of the film featuring Sammo himself as another Wing Chung master. Check it out, if you can find it.

As a teaser, here's a fight between Lam Ching-Ying and a Bad Guy. Please don't be put off by the lame voices they've dubbed over the soundtrack. The copy I have on VHS is subtitled, and I recommend that version.

How many top 10 have you seen...

It is called 1990: The Bronx Warriors. It's a terrible, horrible Italian "Escape from New York" ripoff starring the great Fred Williamson. It's so bad, its GREAT! And that is the truth.
This is my favorite scene from the movie. The gang goes down to the docks (which are in Brooklyn, but ignore that fact) and finds their mate dead. But, for some reason, there's this dude there just tearing up this wicked drum solo through the whole scene. It's surreal, it's non-linear, it makes no sense, and it's PRICELESS. So enjoy, the rest of the movie if you can find it is worth the watch.

The Dark Knight

Now don't get me wrong, I loves me some Jack...but Heath Ledger's Joker makes Jack's look like a sniveling pansy ass nancy boy.

This movie is going to be BAD ASS:
