Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy

'A book came out about 10 years ago, and it listed a lot of misheard lyrics, or mondegreens, along with some very creative illustrations. We've all misheard lyrics to songs at some point, so here's your chance to tell us about them.'

Charlie Daniels

This is more of a request for clarification than a truly misheard lyric, but I'm hoping there's a Charlie Daniels fan in the group who can help me. In Devil Went Down To Georgia, The on Coyote Ugly by Charlie Daniels Band, what is the last line in the chorus? I've got, "Johnny rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard, 'cause Hell's broke lose in Georgia and the Devil..."

I've heard the next phrase three ways: "...deals in hearts," "...deals the cards," or "...deals it hard." As many times as I've listened to the song, I can't decide for sure, and all three make a certain amount of sense in context. I've looked online and found the lyrics written all three ways. It's not a big deal, except that I like to sing, and I hate to be wrong. :-)
