Motorcycle Training

~ July 18, 2007 at 9:33 by FatDan (Views: 92 )

I heard the instructor say this to a father-son team taking an advanced motorcycle training course. The first "your" refers to the son and the second to the father:

"Your reflexes will allow you to get out of situations that your experience won't allow you to get in in the first place."

~ July 9, 2007 at 12:09 by FatDan (Views: 80 )

Overheard At Steelhead Brewery

~ July 6, 2007 at 10:36 by FatDan (Views: 71 )

Hanging out for a burger and a beer, and there's music playing. Nights In White Satin comes on, and after a minute, the bartender forwards to a new song. There's some banter between him and another bartender about the music selection, and I ask "What's wrong with Nights In White Satin?" He says it was kinda slow for the mood, but "nothing against Three Dog Night or anything."

I thought "True, skipping The Moody Blues really isn't anything against Three Dog Night."

The Good Life

~ July 3, 2007 at 9:04 by FatDan (Views: 76 )

"The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good."

- Bertrand Russell

The Times

~ June 30, 2007 at 6:39 by FatDan (Views: 75 )

"Times have not become more violent. They have just become more televised."

- Marilyn Manson

Opera

~ June 28, 2007 at 10:17 by FatDan (Views: 116 )

"No opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible."

- WH Auden
