Social Player for S60v3 won't recognize eaac+ files

~ October 3, 2008 at 3:05 by farlowella (Views: 24 )

Hi there,

I'm owning a Nokia E90 and tested Social Player several times. I reencode my MP3/MP4A files to Enhanced AAC+ (*.aac) to save space on my sd-card. The symbian player will found all files and recognizes the tags, but won't display the album covers. The social player (version 3.2) won't recoginze any files ! On which extensions runs the search in social player ? Will you fix your application to find the aac-files too ?

Thanx,
Farlo

Are there any plans to add ogg and flac format to Strands Social Player for symbian?

I've got a fair number of files encoded with Ogg Vorbis and FLAC and I have to use OggPlay to play them.

Tags are not read by Strands Social Player for s60

~ September 7, 2008 at 13:20 by foxy123 (Views: 95 )

For some reason the player does not read tags from some of my files. I have used Ex Falso to write them and my default N95 player as well as OggPlay read them ok but not Strands. (Ex Falso is a tagger for Linux).

SocialPlayer for Java doesn't read id3 tags in files NOT CBR 128

~ June 29, 2008 at 2:18 by tulse (Views: 640 )

So here is a problem.
If the mp3 file has bitrate CBR 128 kbps, it is OK.
If it is different, then SocialPlayer can't read it.

Another Music Player, the built one in Nokia, does see these tags in all files and show them.

Also SocialPlayer does not send any info to last.fm, even when it can read these tags.

Can I have a workaroud, or is it possible to have this feature in future releases of software?

All Points West Music & Arts Festival

~ June 24, 2008 at 13:24 by musiklvr (Views: 530 )

ALL POINTS WEST MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL is set for August 8, 9 and 10, 2008. The three-day, multi-stage music and arts festival featuring a wide variety of artists including Radiohead and Jack Johnson will take place at Liberty State Park in New Jersey, a historic location offering panoramic views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the Manhattan skyline.

The festival’s name is inspired by the area’s rich history, particularly Ellis Island and the NJ Central Railroad terminal located on the festival site, where many arriving immigrants boarded trains for ALL POINTS WEST. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit “Friends of Liberty State Park.” ALL POINTS WEST is produced by Goldenvoice/AEG Live and Liberty Events in association with the HighLine Ballroom.

Tickets are still available. Click below for more info.

Social Player For Samsung M520?

~ May 26, 2008 at 16:27 by dasfox (Views: 549 )

I just recently found out about the Social Player for J2ME unfortunately it only seems to support Nokia phones.

Does anyone know how I can see about getting support for the player for other phones added in the future, also does anyone know a way in which I might be able to get this to work on the Samsung M520?

THANKS

iPod Touch not syncing

~ May 12, 2008 at 8:59 by junj0u (Views: 517 )

I just got an iPod Touch yesterday, and now when I try to sync it with MyStrands, it says "no iPod recognized, plug in your iPod and try again" or something to that effect. What do I need to do to fix this?

When will my music be added to MyStrands?

~ March 30, 2008 at 5:19 by andygrant (Views: 554 )

I uploaded my album onto indie.mystrands over two months ago, but it's still saying 'waiting to be uploaded to mystrands'. Have I done something wrong, or does it normally take weeks before it's added?

Tip of the Week: Uploading Music

~ February 26, 2008 at 11:22 by Muzika (Views: 701 )

**NOTE: Uploading music at MyStrands is only available to Indie artists through indie.mystrands.com, so they can promote their music and get heard**

While we’re on the topic of independent artists and Indie.MyStrands.com, I think we should take a minute to talk about how easy it is to upload your music to MyStrands so everyone in the world can hear your sounds…

So you went to indie.mystrands.com, registered for the site, received the confirmation e-mail and clicked the link to activate your account – now what?! Well, it’s simple. You’ll be guided through a process of submitting some info about yourself as an artist (name, biography, musical influences, profile pic, etc.), and when you’re done with that its onto the fun part – THE MUSIC!

Once you are done completing the basic information, you will come to a screen like this:

From here you can choose to either upload individual tracks, or you can upload a full album (EITHER WAY, be sure to turn your pop-up blocker OFF... you will need pop-ups for this step. This is crucial!)

If you choose to upload a single track, it will look like this:

If you want MyStrands users to be able to download your tracks, simply check the "Download" box (after reading the Terms & Conditions, of course)
... I know it's very similar, but if you choose to upload an album it will look like this:

Something to take note of when you're uploading music: sometimes it can take a while. If your files are large it will take a moment for them to upload to our servers, and sometimes it will take some time (days in some cases :-/) for our servers to display your info on MyStrands.com - so please be patient with the process.

And from then on, when you visit indie.mystrands.com you will see something like this:

Use the tabs on the top of the page to navigate your account, edit your info, and upload more songs to your page and your albums.

Hope this helps - and as always, if you have any questions just ask them in the MyStrands Forum!
