Filters?

~ May 30, 2007 at 15:12 by dfbills (Views: 174)

What does this message mean? I'm seeing it frequently.

We recognize this track, but your filter
settings restrict our recommendations.
Please enjoy this grab bag suggestion.

I don't see any way to control filters in the interface of the app or online.

Hi,

Thanks for your comment.

First--we need to look into why you are frequently seeing that message. Unless you're playing very obscure music, you should be getting recommendations. Please let us know which version of the MyStrands client you are using (Mac/PC, and version number) and what your operating system is.

Second--here's how to set the filters. On the MyStrands main screen--the one that should be displaying recommendations--click the gear that is above the upper right corner of the recommendation area. A slide out window will appear that lets you adjust the source (in or not in your library), decade, genre, and popularity of the recommendations MyStrands provides. You can even change the settings while a song is playing to see how your recommendations change.

We'll look into why you're not seeing recommendations in general, but please try out the filters and let us know how it goes.

Talk to you soon,

- The MyStrands team

Seems to be working much better these days. I'll keep an eye on it.

I'm still seeing:

"We recognize this track, but your filter
settings restrict our recommendations.
Please enjoy this grab bag suggestion."

I've attached the screenshot to this post showing my recommendation filters- they're wide open.
