39 FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE JAZZ DE BARCELONA

Hola a todos,

después de mucho tiempo, aquí estoy de nuevo a ver si posteo algo más a menudo...
por el momento, anunciar que del dia 20 ded octubre al 1 de diciembre de 2007 se celebra el Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona.

Parece que estarán entre otros Chick Corea, Bebo Valdés, Marcus Miller, etc...

TIERNEY SUTTON (Nuevo álbum: "On the other side")

El pasado 6 de febrero de 2007, lanzó su último álbum en USA Tierney Sutton. El nombre del nuevo disco: ON THE OTHER SIDE. En su sitio en MySpace, podéis escuchar tres de las canciones que lo componen.

Conozco esta artista desde... ¡hoy! (glup) Como me suele pasar, al hacerle una recomendación a un amigo: Regina Spektor, él me correspondió con otra ;-) Ya sé que es un poco pronto para decir esto, pero ¡qué bien suena! Parece ser que tiene que ver (además de por Tierney, of course) con la calidad de sonido que abandera su sello discográfico:TELARC, del que también he oído hablar hoy por primera vez. Allí tenéis más información sobre Tierney Sutton. La verdad es que tenía pensado dejar el primer post en este grupo sobre Diana Krall, que conozco un poco más, tengo tres de sus discos, y además el otro día me obsequiaron el DVD: Live In Paris by Diana Krall que me encantó :-), pero bueno, me he decidido a empezar por Tierney Sutton :-)

He visto en su SITE OFICIAL que está de gira por USA, podéis ver allí las fechas, además de en MySpace...

Os dejo su discografía en MyStrands. Entre sus discos se encuentra algo así (ella le llama "inspirada por...") como un tributo a Frank Sinatra: Dancing In The Dark: Inspired... by Tierney Sutton que por lo que he podido averiguar, fue lo que presentó en su ¿última? visita a España en el 2004 en el madrileño Calle 54

Y por último, y a falta de vídeos (que no hay) "On the other side" en Amazon :-P

not off the handle?

This group might be a great resource. I am looking for jazz, that isn't crazy. What I mean is that there isn't off the handle solos, with squeaky high note. I'm tired of the old stuff, is there anything out there that is worth listening to, that might make my foot tap? Maybe some bluesy stuff too.
