Community cloud?

Why is the Community cloud for my entire library always blank? I'm sync'd with 50k songs.
I'm not sure what you mean by the "Community Cloud." Do you mean the community tags that appear when you open the tag cloud window? Or, are you not seeing any tags when you play a track?
In either (or a even another) case, it's something for us to look into. Please provide some additional information and we will.

I see a little spinning progress indicator, but never any tags.

At the top of the tag cloud form, there is a drop down box that selects which tags you see, your personal tags or the community tags.
Personal tags will only show the tags that you have applied to your tracks.
If you choose the community tags, you should see all of the tags for the tracks in your library.
