Is anyone else getting playlists that aren't as good as they used to be? I tend to make playlists based on artists (not tracks as seeds). My playlists in the new version are nowhere near as good as they were in the previous version. Any tips for how I can improve them given I tend to make them with 3 artists?

The new playlist builder differs significantly from the old one. In the old version, when you entered the name of an artist, a random track from that artist was selected as a seed and the playlist was created from that random selection. If you entered three artists, the playlist was built from three random seeds from those artists.
In this version, you always select a specific seed track to build the playlist, although you can start searching for that track by entering an artist. You can also specify an artist in the "advanced filters" section, but then the artist acts as a "filter" that allows you to either exclude an artist or get tracks exclusively from that artist.
My suggestion would be that when you enter an artist's name to select a seed track, scroll down through the list of tracks by that artist and select some different tracks by that artist. You can do that for each of the tree artists you select as seeds. Let us know if you get different results.
Thanks for the feedback. We'll also look into it from this end.

The seeds will always be tracks, so somehow tracks by Jamie Lidell and Eric Lindell were selected. (Remember, tracks will be selected even if you type in the artist name.) Did you have "include my seeds in the playlist" selected?
In any case, I'm forwarding this to our recommendation team--they are planning to look into improving recommendations from multiple seeds, so the timing is pretty good.
I'll keep checking back as you send examples. Thanks!
