The Good, the Bad and the Queen
Ok, I'm very late in coming to this album, but over the last couple of weeks I've been listening to virtually nothing else (apart from How We Operate by Gomez).
I've been a big fan of Blur since their very first album Leisure through Modern Life Is Rubbish and Parklife and the Damon Albarn managed to change tack and come up with the inspired Gorillaz and Demon Days by Gorillaz. Both fantastic hip hop albums with mixes of all sorts of other stuff in there as well.
Anyway, Demon Days' producer was none other than Danger Mouse - the genius behind the The Grey Album. This mashup of The Black Album by Jay-Z and The White Album by The Beatles was an incredible feat of production and brought Danger Mouse to worldwide attention (and the attention of EMI who forced the album off the shelves and made millions of people download it illegally).
Along with Clash bassist Paul Simonon, former Verve guitarist Simon Tong and Afrobeat pioneer and Africa 70 drummer Tony Allen you have the brains behind The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good The Bad & The Queen.
To find out more I recommend the fansite:

Which is actually slightly better than the official:

There are plenty of YouTube and other videos knocking around but I don't have access to them from work... I'm sure you can find them if you want to!
