Halloween at Dohwa's

~ November 1, 2006 at 21:29 (Views: 51 )

Boy does NYC take Halloween seriously. All of sixth avenue in the West Village was cut off for the Halloween Parade and seventh avenue was a sea of goths, mini-skirted nurses, Scooby-Doos and tons more of creative costumes showing off the festive spirit of New Yorkers. Police were swarming around subways entrances and major avenues...I myself was an angel or depending on what side of the coin you're on, a DEVIL in disguise.

And here were partyStrands and Dohwa in the midst of it all...

We took advantage of partyStrands interactive display to show pictures of some of the costumed folks. So here you go and enjoy the style, creativity and humor of some of the dress-ups...

Columbia Cluster A Fundraiser for DonorsChoose

~ October 4, 2006 at 6:38 (Views: 152 )

The Columbia GBS Cluster A Challenge
Come to the fundraising party hosted by Cluster A on the 28th of October for Donors Choose! DonorsChoose is non-profit organization that provides a way for people to choose and donate directly to the projects they want to help at schools across the country. It currently serves over 4000 schools in the US and as of August 2006 has donated more than 7.4 million dollars to 15,538 projects!!! By collecting proposals from teachers and making them available through the DonorsChoose website, donors can decide how much and to whom they want to contribute. DonorsChoose then purchases and provides the materials to the schools. Talk about social returns and streamlining efficiency..."Teachers ask. You choose. Students learn."

Dear Columbians, how better to get inspired by CEO and founder Charles Best other than by coming to this fundraiser and hearing what DonorsChoose has to say.

Dohwa
will cater the event with some Korean eats and partyStrands will also be featured as a donations mechanism for DonorsChoose with great music, pictures, and interaction.
All revenues from text messages sent to partyStrands will be forwarded to DonorChoose's excellent cause. Books from Simon&Schuster will also be donated and auctioned off. And 50% of all ticket proceeds from this special fundraising event will be forwarded to these projects as part of the collaboration between Cluster A and DonorsChoose.

So step off the Columbia Campus and come down to the West Village on Saturday afternoon to join us for a worthy cause. Contact David del Ser from Cluster A for more information or to purchase tickets.

We're getting there!!!

See you on the 28th of October at 2pm...to follow the music at this event LIVE and the following day to see all photos, text messages and donations made, come back to visit this dohwa partyStrands site.

Thanks Columbia GSB Cluster A and keep up the splendid work!!
