Workingman's Dead

As a long-time fanatic of The Grateful Dead, this album is far and away my favorite studio work from the band. This album, like no other, captures the band's amazing song-writing, singing (which is rarely as good as it is on this album), and minimalist style. It's nothing short of a masterpiece, and can only be topped by some of their greatest live performances, like For The Faithful (Reckoning) and Live Dead.

I'm a huge fan of the Dead, as well, and really like Workingman's. But I have to say that American Beauty is my top pick among their studio albums. Admittedly it sounds "more produced" than Workingman's, but, I don't know, there's just nothing else like it. Box Of Rain --- need I say more!
