A post about a song.
I Think I'm Going Bald
The forgotten track on Rush's forgotten third album, I Think I'm Going Bald is a tongue-in-cheek look at aging (we'd expect nothing less from Neil Peart). Although the topic sounds kind of cheesy to write a song about, in fine Peart fashion it digs a little bit deeper and comes up with some interesting thoughts about getting old, and what changes within us (not just our hairline). It doesn't hurt that Lee and Lifeson put together a sickeningly catchy groove to play behind the lyrics. It's not one of Rush's top ten songs by any means, but it's worth a listen or two.
My favourite bit: "Once we loved the flowers/now we ask the price of the land." Think of that every time you see some old fart driving an SUV with a deadhead sticker on it.
