Biography
Producer/programmer Rhys Fulber (b. Canada; keyboards) is acknowledged primarily for industrial hard rock sounds (especially owing to his work with Front Line Assembly and Fear Factory), but he has been known to take the intensity down a notch or two occasionally, as evidenced by his new age project, Delerium. Originating from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Fulber was inspired by music at an early age, and when he received a synthesizer and drum machine from his father when he was 14 years old, his future in electronic music was sealed. Hooking up with fellow Vancouver musician Bill Leeb, Front Line Assembly was originally formed during 1986, and has gone on to become one of the genre's most enduring outfits.
Despite the onslaught of Front Line Assembly albums, Fulber found time to pursue other interests, particularly producing other artists, and launching Delerium. Joined once more by Leeb, Delerium specializes in ambient pop music, that has received quite a few comparisons to the similarly styled outfit, Enigma. Formed around the same time as Front Line Assembly, Delerium has issued almost as many albums as Leeb/Fulber's more renowned band, including stand-out releases such as 1989's Morpheus, 1994's Semantic Spaces, 1997's Karma (that included the UK hit "Silence', featuring vocals by Sarah McLachlan), and 2000"s Poem.
