Austin Newcomers initially had an electro-rock sound. Their second EP showed a matured lyrical direction and a departure from their earlier sound. Their current sound has more in common with indie-rock bands such as The Strokes and The Libertines.

Biography

Austin Newcomers are a French-Canadian indie rock band headed by Jan and Ilia Cobb. Their blend of punk-inflected folk rock with literate, witty, introspective lyrics have made them one of the most refreshing bands on the indie french music scene. The band includes Jan cobb, Ilia Cobb, Boris Magnin, Christian "Lemmy" and Cédric "Bitchon" Desmazières. They have released two full-length albums and two EPs. The last album was released on July 2007 called GRAND OPENING.
