Biography
The six piece band also interprets compositions by Raymond Scott, musician and visionary inventor. With such a wickerwork, they compose a repertoire quite different from any other band that you may hear nowadays. There are no solos, there is no blues. They don’t even seem to be a Jazz band, although it’s the genre they’re most akin to. Three minute tracks played full speed, Ramones style. And the titles of their songs: Salon dance for eight Egyptian mummies (Baile de salón para ocho momias egipcias) or Sledge ride through Siberia (Paseo en trineo por Siberia) –extremely outgoing. They also have their own music, not very different to that of their predecessors. They are archaic and modern musicians in one. J. M.
