Description

Cycle uses XXI century tools, putting together technology and electric guitars to create sounds that go from Break to rock and from punk to techno, always with a lot of style. When playing live, the band doesn’t respect the conventional guidelines of rock or electronic live music, because the power of electronic rhythm is mixed with high electricity of distortion.

Biography

Cycle is a band founded by producer David Kano, singer and actor Luke Donovan, singer and actress La China Patino y and guitar player Carlos F. Calderón. They use XXI century tools, putting together technology and electric guitars to create sounds that go from Break to rock and from punk to techno, always with a lot of style. David Kano has wanted to achieve different things in this project, from the music he used to DJ at the end of the 80’s to the new electronic wave. “A music Cycle over 14 years old”, says David, who shares management and production work with Carlos F. Calderon at Rec Division Studios in Madrid. After working for a long time, their first album “Weak on the Rocks” is now finished and planned for release on 1st of May. When playing live, the band doesn’t respect the conventional guidelines of rock or electronic live music, because the power of electronic rhythm is mixed with high electricity of distortion. In their 60 minute long show, apart from the tracks on their first record, they cover some songs from underground bands from late 80’s, such as “More” by Sisters of Mercy. or “Solidarity” by Angelics Upstars. “Weak on the Rocks” has 11 songs recorded at Rec Division Studio in Madrid and mastered at Exchange Studios in London with Simon Davey, responsible for mastering the work of artists like Electric Six, Groove Armada, Dj Shadow, Felix Da Housecat, Scissors Sisters, Juan Atkins, De La Soul, Herbert, Aphex Twin, Armand Van Helden,Mirwais,Dj Krush, Howie B , Ritchie Hawtin,Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Chiken Lips, Bjork, Dave Clark, Elastica, Depeche Mode...
