Here is a true cutting edge release of indie folk. That's the initial impression you'll get from listening to this song, Flying Girl. Beyond the influences, REZA has an original voice in the folk sound minefield...while sounding like (at the risk of bringing up a tired old phrase) "melancholic indie folk". Anyway, the song is very melodic and very creative, this to me seems like the proper direction indie pop should be taking instead of the parody that warp has made itself through the years.
This is a wonderful, soft and easy going folk-pop song. I'm diggin' the warm folk atmosphere : great vocals, easy tempo and nice guitars. You have a great sense of melody. You’ve really succeeded to make my day.
There is even a French verse included : Reza, you sing "Tu vas aller jusqu'au bout ?", is that right ?
