Since when is "Hawaii/96786-1413" in Canberra, Australia?

~ July 28, 2008 at 23:12 (Views: 132 )

I took a look at the World Map to see who was playing what/where. Although I've seen it before, it's time to comment on a well-over-2,000-mile-discrepancy. I've checked the "Set you location" window and found that the settings are correct. (Do I have to submit this data again?)

The World Map did have me posting from Washington, D.C., which is as much of a geographical error as locating me in Australia. A couple of upgrades ago, I was located in the North Pacific Ocean, which was fine with me. Then I was relocated to Washington D.C., which is laughable at best. Now I'm supposed to be in Australia, which qualifies your software for the American High School Student Worldview award.

I'm going back to last.fm, which is familiar with all of the musicians/artists on the HDD, along with many others unknown to this web site.

MP3s and streaming video

If I can tie a .JPG to the MP3, you can find Hawaiian music audio uploads at http://mog.com. This site features Indie, Alternative, Punk, Metal, Hip Hop artists and fans galore. Caution: you may find too many connections at MOG and never return to MyStrands! (I come back because this affiliated-with-Rhapsody site draws Spammers and at least one possible Phisher!)

"Hawaiian" artists
by Wahiawa786 ~ February 6, 2008 at 19:42

Barefoot Natives, John Cruz, Kenneth Makuakane, Raiatea Helm, Willie K, Keali'i Reichel, 'Ale'a, Na Leo (Pilimehana), The Peter Moon Band, Cecilio & Kapono, Olomana, Sean Na'auao, Robi Kahakalau, Maunalua, The Brothers Cazimero, Keola & Kapono Beamer, Keahiwai, Opihi Pickers, Pali, IZ, Darlene Ahuna, Kawai Cockett, Maila Gibson, Melinda Caroll, Pilioha, Pekelo, Makaha Sons, Taimane Gardner, Nathan Aweau, and Don Ho are some that come to mind.
And now for other artists: Great Big Sea, Michael Martin Murphey, Alison Krauss, Jose Feliciano, Liz Story, Montreux, Hiroshima, Chuck Berry, The Kinks, Jamie Cullum, Fountains of Wayne, Anita Baker, Eva Cassidy, Simon & Garfunkel, Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Who, Louis Armstrong, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dan Fogelberg, Jim Croce, Joan Osborne, etc. (I set iTunes to Party Shuffle, which keeps things from getting stale or played out too soon.) Things are cool, windy, and occasionally sunny...if trade showers don't get you down.
