Willkommen Indie artist Daniela Elger and her recent album "Behind the Horizon," now available for preview on MyStrands.com.
Daniela has one of those careers that is constantly on the verge of major breakthrough – performing with signficant acts on tour, providing studio support for well-known projects; even appearing in TV spots from Munich to Potsdam. All great showcases for talent, but alas without the deserved billing. It’s no surprise that Daniela continues to be under appreciated.
Maybe there is simply an exess of gifted female pop vocalists. Everyone from Natalie Merchant to Heather Nova to Fiona Apple. There seems to be a never-ending stream of well produced sexy chanteuses. But, hey, talent is talent and deserves to be called attention to… so I do my part.
Check out "Behind the horizon." It’s a kind musical diary, showing a very private impression of the artist’s ambition. The opening track “Where only the wind will blow” kicks off a series of travelogs by this well-heeled performer. The title track speaks of a longing search, which is the basis of much soulful music.
Later tracks become a little uptempo-- and more appropriate for a Summer afternoon on the beach.... I recommmend Ich liebe Dich if you're looking for some fun.
