Indy Rock: From Hendrix to Human Signals

~ March 28, 2006 at 10:52 (Views: 192)

Human Signals is guitar rock at its core but has diverse influences. From 2 chord rock to ethnic scales, from instrumentals to poetic lyrics.

Those who know me, know that I'm a sucker for classic American rock music, ala Jimi Hendrix and Joe Satriani. In the '70s and early '80s the electric guitar reached its apex as an instrument and as a musical style. Human Signals has resurrected this classic instrument with its original force.

Check out a few of Human Signal's tracks:
- Oh Thumb!
- Jack Buddy
- Or Midbar

Their latest works are have an ethnic influence, which is unusual -- but not so unusual that it can't cross political and cultural boundries.

For additional guitar materpieces from the era of Rock, check out some of these great artists:

1. Wind Cries Mary, The by Jimi Hendrix
2. Sky Is Crying, The - (live) by Stevie Ray Vaughan
3. Bad Horsie by Steve Vai
4. Boom Boom by John Lee Hooker
5. Miles Road - (with Jimmy Page) by Eric Clapton
6. Draggin' My Tail by Jimmy Page
7. Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple
8. No Trains To Heaven by Be-Bop Deluxe
9. Thrill Is Gone, The by B.B. King
10. Do You Feel Like We Do by Peter Frampton 9but only the version of the great album "Frampton Comes Alive!

In the 1980s, many assumed blues rock was left for dead, but Stevie Ray Vaughan helped breath life back into it. More than a straight-ahead bluesman, Texas-native Vaughan was influenced as much by Jimi Hendrix as he was by Otis Rush, and the singer/…
