What is DigiticedMusic.com

~ January 2, 2008 at 12:05 (Views: 12 )

What is Digiticed Music ?

• We sell your music online. The 50/50 split we offer means that you, the artist, gets half of the sales price. A $14 album sale (minus the taxes and bank fees) = approximately $11, $5.50 straight to you. A typical record label will pay you 25 cents to a dollar in royalties on a CD sale only after they recoup their expenses.

• Your contract with us is totally non-exclusive and limited only to the music you send us: you can (and should) keep promoting your music yourself. You can print and sell your own CDs, compete with our web site; even sign with another record label (provided they offer a non-exclusive deal). There is no long-term commitment to send us more music. If you want to leave us, don’t send us any more music. We'll retain the right to keep finding money for the music you have sent us (and we’ll keep sending you 50%) and we won’t have limited your rights to do anything you like with the music you have sent us. The contract you sign with us helps us make money from your music from a variety of sources, and we split any money 50/50 with you. You make the great music; we do the work of finding money for it.

• We help you get heard. By offering free fulllength samples of all your music, prospective buyers get to hear your songs first and then buy. We provide all the technology to enable widespread Internet distribution, and we do it legally, without violating anybody’s copyright. All our 128k mp3 are available under the “Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike3.0” license from Creative Commons to promote these goals.

• We keep the quality high. There is so much good music out there that never gets heard. One big reason good music has trouble getting heard is that there’s too much junk out there. We filter it out, by selecting music ourselves, recruiting artists directly as well as accepting submissions for screening.

• There is money in licensing music for games, movies and commercials. We promote your music for this use, and offer an easy system for musiclicensing customers to find your music and buy it online.

• We help you promote you. Besides getting your music heard, we provide a discussion forum and en e-mail announcement list for each artist, help get merchandising together, and talk to the press about you.

• There is no DRM (Digital Rights Management). Those who buy your music will be able to listen to it on any platform, any device.
